The full plug and play EKP module cooler kit is designed specifically for F25 BMW's using an EKPM2 or EKPM3 fuel pump control module. This is recommended for anyone using a low pressure fuel pump that is larger than the OEM fuel pump.

The cooler housing is designed to fit over the EKP module just like the OEM housing and fits with plenty of room in the stock EKP location. The housing is 3D printed using durable ASA or ABS. The full kit is printed and assembled in the U.S.A. by Arc Terminator LLC.

10% of all proceeds from pink housings sold will be donated towards Breast Cancer research.

Full Kit Contents:

1x EKPM3 Cooler Housing With 5015 Fan or Other Noctua Fan

1x 14x14x6mm Heatsink With Thermal Tape

1x 14x9x5mm Heatsink With Thermal Tape

1x 9x9x5mm Heatsink With Thermal Tape (x2 with EKPM2 Kit)

6x 4" Zip Ties

1x Alcohol Wipe

1x 2 Amp Mini Blade Fuse

Why this kit exists:

The EKPM3 and EKPM2 have been shown to overheat and cause vehicle shutdown issues when larger fuel pumps that draw more current than OEM are used. This shutdown comes from critical components on the EKPM3 and EKPM2 overheating when larger current draws are coming from the fuel pump. The PNP kit comes with heatsinks for the most heat-sensitive and heat-producing components in the EKPM3 / EKPM2 to further increase cooling effectiveness. When paired with a potent 5015 blower fan or silent Nocuta fan that directs a large amount of airflow through the cooler housing, the EKPM3 / EKPM2 stays significantly cooler, which prolongs the life of the module.

FAQ:

Q: How do I know which EKP module my vehicle has?

A: We recommend that you visually inspect your module to verify the hardware revision to ensure a proper fit. If you're still unsure, you an always send us a message at our Contact Us page and we'll gladly help you identify which EKP module you have.

Q: Where does this plug in to?

A: The F25 chassis has a fuse box in the trunk close to the EKP module. The power comes from fuse #144, which the wiring harness will plug directly into. This fuse controls the "additional 12v socket," which will still be 100% functional with this kit installed. The kit is then grounded to the bottom EKP mounting stud.

Q: This is 3D Printed, will it be durable enough to be in my car?

A: Yes, absolutely! Our housings are made from very durable ASA, ABS or PETG (depending on color options) and are designed to protect the EKP module from accidental impacts that may occur with objects in your trunk.

Q: I'm a DIY'er, can I buy just the housing?

A: Absolutely! The housing alone is available here:  Cooler Housing Only  Also, if you've got a 3D Printer and you want to do your own thing, the STL file is 100% FREE for download here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5478339

Other Information:

Depending on heatsink availability, you may receive heatsinks that look different than what is pictured. However, we have tested both variants of heatsinks and have not noticed any measurable difference in heat dissipation from either style.

Please note that the actual EKPM3 or EKPM2 Fuel Pump Control Module is NOT included with this kit and is only shown for fitment.

This product is not DOT approved and is not intended to be installed in a vehicle for street use and may void your vehicle's warranty.

This product does not guarantee that your EKP fuel pump control module will not fail over time nor will this product fix any existing errors you may have with your vehicle.

So far so good - one small suggestion

The quality of 3D print was good and it fit perfectly over my existing EKPMS unit. I was not aware that it ALSO came with heat sinks - something I was looking in to separately anyway, but didn’t need to buy anything more. Installation was simple and straightforward. The hardest part was getting my vacuum out to clean up all the crumbs that were under the X3’s back seat! Running the wiring to the rear fusebox was simple and there is the perfect amount of attached wiring to do it right.

The only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is that the 10mm flanged plastic body nut (16131176747) that holds the original EKPMS unit down was too wide to use on the new unit (due to the 3D printing is a bit thicker than the original). I used some diagonal cutters to cut the flange of the plastic nut. It as a very minor hiccup in an otherwise simple (and so far, effective) installation. It would be simple to include two standard M6(?) nuts and washers.
