These Navpods are on clearance due to defects in the printing process. Some of these may have cracks, which are shown in the pictures and can be fixed with epoxy, then sanded and painted.
These are sold "as is" with no warranty, refunds or returns accepted.
These all have the potential to look like brand new Navpods with a bit of work. We recommend taking the following steps to get them ready for installation. Please make sure to use appropriate PPE when sanding, glazing and painting.
1. Sand the front face with a rotary tool that has a sanding attachment on it to get rid of the support interfaces.
2. Sand the rest of the Navpod with 180 - 300 grit sand paper or sanding blocks. Wash off or use compressed air to get rid of the excess sanding dust.
3. Once the Navpod is dry and free of dust, use epoxy to secure any cracks and let the epoxy cure. Once the epoxy cures, sand that down to a level surface with the rest of the Navpod and clean off the dust as you did in step 2.
4. Use glazing putty in small amounts at a time to fill the layer lines or any holes / defects that may be present on the Navpod. Allow the glazing putty to harden for at least 1 hour.
5. Once the glazing putty has hardened, sand the glazing putty smooth with 220 grit sand paper or equivalent sanding block. This process may need to be repeated several times for a perfectly filled finish. Wash or blow off the excess dust and allow the Navpod to dry.
6. Once the Navpod is dry, use a filler primer to spray paint the outside of the Navpod. We recommend letting the primer dry and harden for at least 6 - 8 hours before wet sanding with 1000 grit sand paper. Repeat this process until the desired primer finish is achieved. You will need to wash and dry the Navpod after wet sanding before applying the next coat of primer.
7. Once the base primer is smooth, use SEM Landau Black spray paint in light coats to cover the exterior of the Navpod. If necessary, wet sand every other coat.
8. Our typical finished Navpods go through a similar process and usually take about 4 - 5 coats of SEM Landau Black spray paint. We recommend using as many coats as necessary to achieve the desired finish.
